Knee Evaluation

Knee Evaluation

To Determine If Your Knee Pain Is Caused By Osteoarthritis

X-rays of the knees are ordered– This shows the amount of degeneration in the knee that is present. This procedure provides a clear, detailed view of the hard, bony parts of the knee and provides the practitioner with the information he/she needs to make a diagnosis of the knee and determine if you have osteoarthritis in your knee(s)

An MRI/Arthrogram of the knee is ordered for you 2nd visit – This is a diagnostic test (all diagnostic tests should be performed on a separate day) and this test will determine if you are a candidate for our program and if there are any contraindications that would prevent you from starting the program. This test is for the internal component of the knee. This test determines:
- That there is no leakage of the contrast which would indicate tears of the soft tissue (meniscal, etc.).
- To make sure that we will be able to get the HA successfully into the knee and to get maximum effectiveness.

A bracing evaluation is performed - This is performed by the practitioner to determine if a brace may provide the stability and support necessary to properly align your body and assist in reducing and balancing the weight-bearing load on your knees.
